omnom. nom nom.

I am so tired. It is unbelievable. And I have Spanish homework to do before 5:45, a video to upload, this to write + a nap to take. You guys should be happy that this is the first thing I’ve decided to do. So hopefully I’ll write this fast, and then I can do my homework and sleep for 30 minutes or something.
SO LET’S BEGIN! Music. Okay. I’m going to try and make this as organized as possible, but I’m not
promising anything.

I’m gonna start with German music. ;D Two weeks ago I was going through a German music phase, so yeah. My favourite songs which are German would be Was ich an dir mag – Lukas Hilbert, Geboren um zu leben – Unheilig, and Universum – Ich + Ich. I really like Ich + Ich, and another good song by them is Pflaster. Other German bands/singers I like are Culcha Candela, Checker and Bushido. I’ll probably remember more later but now those are the ones that I can think of. I also like Alpa Gun. ;D And Xavier Naidoo.

And now my top played list. Yeah, I really don’t have a favourite type of style, or a favourite band..which makes it hard for me to choose my favourite song and stuff, so my top played songs it is!
1.
Bless The Broken Road – Rascal Flatts [469 plays ;O]
2.       Hey, Soul Sister – Train.
3.       What It Feels like – FM Static
4.       Need You Now – Lady Antebellum
5.       Universum – Ich + Ich
6.       Geboren um zu leben – Unheilig
7.       Was ich an dir mag – Lukas Hilbert
8.       If It’s Love – Train
9.       Broken Hearted Girl – Beyonce
10.   Life Without You – Stanfour ft. Esmee Denters
11.   Tonight – Alex Band
12.   The World Is Mine(I don’t know anything) – Alex Day
13.   Half Of My Heart – John Mayer
14.   I Don’t Believe You – Pink
15.   Bullet Proof – La Roux
16.   Empire State Of Mind – Jay-z ft. Alicia Keys
17.   When I Look To The Sky – Miley Cyrus
18.   Last Man Standing – Leo & Vanessa
19.   Düp Düp – Mickie Krause
20.   Airplanes – B.o.B ft. Hayley Williams
21.   Gypsy – Shakira
22.   Pictures Of You – The Last Goodnight
23.   Pflaster – Ich + Ich
24.   Allein Allein - Polarkreis
25.   In My Head – Jason Derulo

Which now brings me to the bands/singers I really like.

Train – I really like Hey, Soul Sister + If It’s Love. I mean, they’re both on my Top 25 soo.. ;D I really like If It’s Love..more than I do Hey, Soul Sister. I don’t know why.

FM Static – They are really good too. (: Their song, Tonight [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbFlHd1GP1w] is a song which gets be really down, but it’s my favourite song from them. It’s actually me and one of my best friends song. I also like Definitely Maybe, Dear God, Moment of Truth and well, all of their songs really. I’m currently listening to Tonight..it’s making me depressed.

Alex Band – LOVE. He played a concert the other day I think in Köln, a neighbouring town to me. I really like him. Tonight is my favourite song from him. And I also really like Leave (Today Is The Day), and Wherever You Will Go, and Coming Home.

Alex Day – Is an explanation even necessary? I ordered his new CD [The World Is Mine(I Don’t Know Anything)] and when I got it, I was mucho happy. My favourite songs from him are The World Is Mine(I Don’t Know Anything) and Pokemon, what happened to you? Also, Sonic doesn’t need a story or whatever it’s called is one of my favourite songs ;D It’s real nice (:

Taylor Swift – I really like her songs. And her style of music. So yeah. I don’t have a favourite song, I think. I have to check. Teardrops on my guitar, I think. And Crazier.

And I don’t know what other bands I like because iTunes doesn’t show me my top 25 most played bands, which sucks. They should.

BUT I JUST FOUND MY TOP RATED. So here we go again ;D

Chris Daughter – Big fan. Well, not big. But I like his songs. And his style of music, so yeah. September is on my top rated.

Kris Allen - *spazzes* I really liked him during American Idol, and when he won I was ecstatic. I was the only one among my friends who supported him so when they all found out that Adam Lambert didn’t win…heheh. I like The Truth, a lot. It’s also one of my top rated ;D

You know what’s another song on my top rated? Circle of Life – The Lion King. If anyone is wondering, the Lion King happens to be my favourite Disney movie, and one of my favourite movies ever but that’s only because I’ve seen so many good movies, which I forget about so yeah. ;D

I really like depressing songs/songs about love. Because it makes me upset. That makes me sound emo. I take that back. But I still do like those type of songs. As well as country. I <3 country. I like all types of music to be honest, apart from Heavy metal.. I cannot stand it and I do not see the point in it so (y) :)

2012 – Jay Sean ft. Nicki Minaj = amazing song.
OH and I also like Nickelback. A lot. Especially Far Away. Makes me really upset. ):

Ahh, I nearly forget them. Youtubers. There aren’t THAT many Youtubers that I like, apart from Charlie McDonnell and Alex Day. As well as Ministry Of Magic. But that’s about it. I mean, there are other ones yeah? But those three are the only singers/bands that I’ve actually bothered downloading/buying their song. So yeah. I think that Charlie McDonnell and Alex Day are amazing. As well as Tom Milsom. Sons Of Admirals are a really neat band. I like them. As well as Chameleon Circuit. I mean, trock?! How can you not love it?

Oh, and I also like football music ;D As in the type of music, for my football team. If that made sense. THE SONGS WE SING WHEN WE ARE WATCHING BORUSSIA MÖNCHENGLADBACH PLAY FOOTBALL ;D

OK MY WHOLE PLAN IS RUINED. I spent way too much on this. :( And now I have no time for a nap which means when I go to Spanish, I will be very tired. And. Ugh. Spanish is so boring. -.- I wrote a Spanish test today in school…and boy, that was hard. OK I SHUT UP NOW AND GO. I think I missed out of on a lot of music I like, but I don’t care. I’m too tired/stressed to care.

BTW the whole format of my blog is RUINED :( because Word is a douche. Either that or I'm an idiot ;D

DFTBA <3 xx

Believers Never Die

I am so sorry I'm late. I literally just got home like an hour ago, it's 1am right now. technically it's Thursday, but I hope I can post right now. My grandfather was in the hospital so my entire family was there since like 7 at night.
Okay, so the theme this week is music which I'm like really happy about because I love music. I can never really just pick one favorite band since I like a big variety of music so I'm just gonna go by the most played songs on my Mp3.
Ke$ha: Most people don't like her for some reason, but I really like her music. It's like good party music and I actually think she's a good singer. My favorite song by her is Blah, Blah, Blah which is just like about how guys talk too much like on dates and stuff.
Fall Out Boy: I will always love them even if they don't make another album because right now they're are an indefinite hiatus. I love Fall Out Boy because of the meaning of the songs that they write.
Plain White T's: I think that the Plain White T's songs are really great and sweet. I really love 1,2,3,4 but I got so upset to find out that the video for it was filmed downtown in Chicago and I didn't find out until it was over. That was so irritating because I go downtown everyday, my school is downtown, but I didn't know about it.
Okay just to like sum up the rest of my favorite bands, it's All Time Low, Allstar Weekend, Alexz Johnson, Katy Perry, Cobra Starship and so many more, but my brain can't think of them right now. The links are just to my favorite song by them right now and again so sorry that I'm posting this late.

And leave the rest to Providence and Paddy McGinty's goat!

This is not quite my element; I find it hard to talk about the music I prefer. I can't quite tell people what I do/do not like. 0__o Maybe I'll just give you a musical history of mine xD

If you see my other posts; they're usually pretty long. I like to think the longest out of us all. Though I may have ben out lenthend(if thats a word) I fear I cannot live upto the lengths to which you have all provided. Though I shall try (:

Okay, so I'll start with my younger years, (aged 0-5)
I was  your typical brittish baby/toddler I was soothed by the sounds of Iron Maidon, metallica, and the four non blondes ^_^ OH, I was really into traditional irish stuff too. Like "Paddy McGinty's Goat"(Epic song ^^ the titlle of this post is a lyric from it) You see...my dad was (well is) called Paul McGinty, but people called him Paddy, he loved the irish stuff and I guess all the irish blood in me, has kinda programmed me to like it too XD I'm not too sure about my favourite matallica/iron maidon songs at the time(I shall ask my Mum at a later date, when shes in the house with me)

Okay, we're not at 6-9(2000-2003)
I really was oyur typical british kid at the time...B*witched, all stars, steps, britney spears; you name it. All the mass comercialled crap, I was into it. I knew all the dances to the b*witched songs, I do still quite love them. Their tope of the pops performance was epic ^_^ (Note: all the denim they wear in this video; I dressed in it all, head to toe denim, ahh I looked so good -__- I can't believ my Mum lemme go out like that!)

September 2004: my musical break through!
I re-learnt the magical magic-ness of The Smiths, Green Day, Metallica, Iron Maidon and Eminem. I'd been brought up on The Smiths, and Metallica, though somehow they left my train of thought. It all came back to me, when Green Day released their album American Idiot. I believe it was their biggest album, but in my opinion, deffinatly not their best. It was about that time I started to dye my hair, and leave all the denim(bar jeans) behind xD

December 2005: And thus came my chemical romance!
Damn I thank "The black parade" for giving me my chemical romance. Again; it's not my favourite album; but quite possibly their biggest. My love for gerard way has increased a million fold since then. I've even come to love Bob Bryer 0__o (More so since he left the band!) I used to sit with this girl, Rachel, in my Music classes each lesson just had to be started and ended with "I'm not okay" on MusicJesus.

July 2009: I have to thank Anna for Placebo!
In June or July I met these people at school; they were a few years below me, but still rather epic. This one girl, Anna introduced me to Placebo(I'd heard Meds already...but who hasn't?) since then /they've become a slight obsession(I'm currently listening to "Sleeping with ghosts")

Summer 2009: You can tell me how vile already know that I am
My ex boyfriend, Christopher introduced me to Brand New, I fell in love with Jessee Lacey. This is when I first heard owl city too, WAY BEFORE fireflies ¬__¬

January 13th 2010: We live in a Synthetic Generation!
Christopher showed me deathstars on YouTube. Since then Iv'e just fallen in love with them. Seriouzly guyz. I ended up going to see them on June 22nd, I got some of the bassist's spit in my mouth XD

June 2010: I keep seeing this picture of you.
When our The sons of admirals did "Here comes my baby" on youtube I kinda become slightly more obsessed with Edd Plant. Seriously. This slight obsession has lead to many a dissagreement about the best Admiral, between myself and My friend Grace

Paddy McGinty's goat

Metallica, I have 3 favourite songs by these guys- Nothing Else Matters, Master of puppets and mama said you can never not be in the mood for metallica. More to the point you can never not be in the mood for Larz Ulrich or James Hetfeild.

Iron Maidon; there is always time for Maidon ALWAYS, and if you disagree then just gtfo!

The four non blondes; I have no idea what I liked when I was a child; but the song that has stuck with me is whats up

B*witched; still my biggest guilty please, I must say. I still know all the words, and the dance and everything to... C'est la vie

Steps;  I seriously have NO idea hy I even liked these, seriously. though apparently I did. Steps nerds ftw! ;D I remember buying deeper shade of blue in town after school, odd memory. Knew the dance to this too XD

All stars:  you probleys remember this song rom the scooby doo movie xD well lolz at bump in the night (I also know all the words XD)

The smiths; It's hard to pick my favourite song by the smiths; so I shall list nemerous ones xD There is a light that never goes out, girlfriend in a coma, ask, this charming man, *stops list before I go The smiths mad xD* They just have this habit of putting the most depressing songs into the brightest of tunes ^__^

There is a light that never goes out lyrics ;D
Take me out tonight
Where there's music and there's people
And they're young and alive
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one
Anymore

Take me out tonight
Because I want to see people and I
Want to see life
Driving in your car
Oh, please don't drop me home
Because it's not my home, it's their
Home, and I'm welcome no more

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine

Take me out tonight
Take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
And in the darkened underpass
I thought Oh God, my chance has come at last
(But then a strange fear gripped me and I
Just couldn't ask)

Take me out tonight
Oh, take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one, da ...
Oh, I haven't got one

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine

Oh, There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out

Eminem: haveing a mother thats somewhat creppy about eminem can't be normal. I actually can identify my favourite song; I think. It has to be: The kids, juts listen to the lyrics; you will lol!

Green Day; the BEST song by far by these guys has to be walking contradiction! I don't care what anybody says. This is t he best. And the best album is dookie(I don't think walking contradiction is on dookie) (i think its on nimrod)

My chemical romance; Once the emo kings, now they're just...not. I guess emo has been taken over by screamo...and wales |: I really got into them in December '05, but I guess I'd always liked them; their best album has to be (imo) Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge. Though I'm uberly psyched  for their new album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. The only thing i've heard of it is... art is the weapon  I also believe I may have heard "NA NA NA" xD

Brand New!
The band that made my summer '09 They're depressing, but they're up front about it. They're an awesome badn. Seriously. But their latest album "Daisy" was SOOOOO bad! I refuse to admit that it exsists!

I'm gunna have to leave it there guys; I've been writing for too long; and I have so much coursework left to do >_<

OH! Teh blue is all gone now though >_< It's washed to black/blonde now :L
Also, I requested a Star Trek week ;D! Though I think it's gunna be like a futuristic fantasy week sorta thing

Monday, 27 September 2010

She listened to all manner of things. Things that began with an M. Such as music, monday, and muchness.

Alright! Music time!
I love music. I love most kinds of music. I even like a little bit of rap and country, though I'm not to crazy about either of those. A lot of the music I listen to doesn't really have a specific genre. I don't really like to think of music in genres, to me, music is music.
I love YouTube musicians. I love the usual YouTube people (eddplant, hexachordal, nerimon, charlieissocoollike, ect...) and I love Julia Nunes. Julia Nunes is so talented. If you haven't heard her, you should. She does covers and some original songs. I'll stop talking about YouTube people and direct you to a blog post I recently wrote about why I think they're so great and how the commercial music industry should take a hint from them.
My all time favorite band is Red Hot Chili Peppers. Before I was twelve or thirteen or whatever, I didn't really care about music. Mainly because I was a kid and I had other stuff to worry about. But, when I was thirteen or twelve or however old I actually started listening to and really liking music. The first music I really got into was Red Hot Chili Peppers, and they've been with me ever since. It seems like I go through different types of music and different bands but I always come back to them. If you haven't listened to them, or you don't really like them, I suggest you give them a second chance (or first shot.) A song of theirs I feel you might enjoy.
I love so much music. Like, I love it. It's really hard for me to choose a favorite because I really just love them equally. Some bands I've loved over time? The Used, Say Anything, Weezer, Modest Mouse, My Chemical Romance, Death Cab For Cutie, Nirvana, The Beatles, Linkin Park, Switchfoot, and Simon & Garfunkel. All of those bands are bands that I can listen to on repeat for hours and never get tired of them.
Then you have the bands that I like. I like tons of bands. Really, too many to mention. But they're sort of the third tier in my music hierarchy; Red Hot Chili Peppers being the first, favorites over time the second, and the bands I like the third.
My current favorite is Regina Spektor. I am in love with her music. I can listen to it for hours on end. One song by her that I'm really into is Lacrimosa. I have all of her songs on my iPod. I really suggest her music. My favorite album of hers right now is Songs, her first album (I think...) I also think she is a really beautiful person. She's doesn't let the public tell her how she should look and what a beautiful girl should be. To me, she seems like one of those grown ups who never stopped being a teenager. That's how I want to be, I never want to become boring like most grown ups. She is also a wonderful singing talent. She has the voice of an angel. I also love her music because I can sing along and sound good. Most of the music I listen to is by men, but I still sing along. Anyways, once I start obsessing over some new band (something I will, without a doubt, do) she is definately going in the second tier of the music hierarchy.
Anyways, I'm done babbling about music. But I feel like I should talk about more stuff.
Ah, ha! And idea:
Natalia: I saw my first episode of "How I Met Your Mother" the other day. It was hilarious!!!
Aleta: I'm sorry you're not having a good school year! Did you go to the carnival? If so, was it fun?
Bethanie: I have to say that your music post was great. I loved reading it and clicking the links! My favorites were Enter Shikari, Innerpartysystem, and I really liked that Get Better song by the bearded dude! Also I loved the music video with the dogs. I have two dogs who I love very much!
Marisa: I totally want to be in a band with my husband when I get married. The Weepies are great!
Victoria: I have also been looking for a certain music video for years. Only I haven't found it :( And I love musicals!

I'm done now.

I still believe in this Rock and Roll, And I pray the music gonna save my soul. ~Pop Evil, 100 in a 55

OK, I know the topic is music, but I feel the need to write a bit beforehand about homecoming.  It sucked.  The music sucked, the people I went with were awesome, but that can only get you so far...  There was no dancing done, the guy I really wanted to go with refused to go (despite the fact that he wanted me to ask him.  Aparrantly he discussed it at the dinner table with his parents, and his dad went off saying how awesome I was and why wasn't he going with me... >.>)  ANYWAYS, back to the semi-relevant stuff.  So I spent a night on which I had very little homework (because of a field trip to see Much Ado About Nothing the next day) writing codes for five different programs.  Sure, they were just short, relatively simple if-then programs, but still... It turns out the guy doesn't have the program required to compile and then open them. >_<  I sent it to another friend just to make sure that it worked on other computers, and she said that it just opened the code in a .txt file.  It KILLED me. DX

ANYWAYS!  ONTO THE MUSIC!  I <3 music.  Music=Life.  It cheers me up when I'm down, it regulates my mood when I'm happy, and calms me down when I'm mad.  Some of my favorite bands include Green Day (the old stuff, not the new stuff, though the new stuff isn't half bad), Metallica, U2 (again, the old stuff, not the new crap), OMD (Orchestral Manouvers in the Dark), Styx, Depeche Mode, Linkin Park (again, the older stuff), Seven Marry Three, Erasure, Collective Soul, Billy Idol, Rick Astley, Pearl Jam, Bullet for my Valentine, and broadway stuff, but I have many, many more.  And they change pretty much every other day. :P  I also like random songs, but not bands themselves, if that makes sense.  Like Mike Posener's 'Cooler Than Me'.

I listen to almost anything.  Almost.  I refuse to listen to country, and most modern pop.  80's pop is good, but besides Lady GaGa, I don't listen to much if I'm not forced by my mom.  I grew up listening to music with my dad, so I like a lot of 80's and early 90's music.  We do disagree on some music, but very little.  My mom and I, on the other hand, are constantly bickereing about music.  Mine "hurts her ears", and hers just sounds like auto-tuned, digitalized crap.  Not to say that I don't like techno, but Ke$ha? Really?  And Justin Beiber? *Shudders*  But anyway, I think you get the point.

I love musicals.  I just do.  I don't know why, my dad hates them (mostly), and my mom likes them, but not the way I do.  I listen to all sorts of broadway soundtracks, from Spring Awakening, to A Very Potter Musical/Sequel, to Guys and Dolls, to Thoroughly Modern Millie, and everything in between. Especially Once More with Feeling, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical, and Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog.  Because Joss Whedon is just awesome and hilarious.  I love the music, and the way it gets incorporated into the stage action.  It has always been my dream to be able to write a broadway musical, or even just a fun little thing, but alas...  No such works will ever come from me.

I don't actually have much more to say on the topic of music, despite the fact that I have a ton of thoughts about it buzzing around in my head.  None of them seem to want to be coherent enough to be written out.  So for now, I shall leave you.

"Better that we leave the paint behind... Then ever forget the music." -Markus Zusak, 'The Book Thief'

Sup dudes?? Music week, this is my kind of post!

I ADORE music. I love almost all of it. There's some stuff that I really don't like as much as some other stuff, Country, Hip Hop/Rap, Scream-o, but I find music one of those things where even if you don't like it, you still have to appreciate it.

Ok, so first I'm going to start off with the musicians you guys probably know, you know YouTube peeps. I'm not going to put any links in this part because, well, like I said, you probs. know them. Now to state some obvious I love Tom Milsom, Alex Day, and Charlie McDonnell. I also love Kristina Horner, Lauren Fairweather, and Hank Green. Ok, so now that the well known guys are out there here's a dude you might not know, but maybe you do? I don't know what you do and don't know... Anyways, his name is Alex Goot and he does covers. His music vieos are awesome because he's his own band. WEBSITE YOUTUBE.

Ok, next up childhood music. Like Bethanie, I had my Boy Band phase, heck, I think I'm still in my boy band phase. :) I love the Backstreet Boys and *NSync. Also Dream Street is pretty boy-band-tastic. I also enjoyed Britney Spears, although not so much any more. (Also, like  Bethanie, I like Train, Lifehouse, and Matchbox 20. :) Oh, and all classic Disney music, yeah, I walk home from school with Mulan in my ears. :P

Ok, what else, what else? I think a great band is Five for Fighting their so peaceful and relaxing yet for some reason they still make me want to dance horribly. MUSIC VIDEO.
Oh! The Killers, I love The Killers I like to listen to how their style changes just a little bit with each album. WEBSITE

Another great band is Matt&Kim, Kim on drum and Matt on keyboard, even though it's just the two of them they make some amazing songs. Also the way they write their songs is amazing; Kim will sit down and write down every thought that comes to mind and then Matt comes picks the ones he likes and makes a song out of them. Pretty cool, right? WEBSITE INTERVIEW MUSIC VIDEO MUSIC VIDEO
There is a great band called Free Energy, I wouldn't call them techno but they're maybe bordering on it just a teeny tiny bit. WEBSITE
I really love Maroon 5, I love Adam Levine's voice range, it's fantastic.
Ok, now these might be my two all time favorite bands, at the moment. First, Jack's Mannequin. I know we're not talking lyrics but my gosh I love Andrew McMahon for them. He also has a great voice and amazing piano playing skills. Andrew wrote a ton of his songs while in the hospital with cancer and you can really hear his story through his music. I recommend the song "There, There Katie" he wrote it for his sister who was his bone marrow donor. WEBSITE I highly recommend them. Then there's Motion City Soundtrack. Most of their songs are really upbeat and fun to move to and then there are others that are on the slower side, but personally I think all of it is good. My two favorites, "LGFUAD" and "The Future Freaks Me Out" WEBSITE MUSIC VIDEO MUSIC VIDEO

The Weepies. I love them oh so much. Husband and wife and their music is so mellow. It's amazing. You should check out "I Gotta Have You" it's terribly sweet and calm and perfect for when you're in a sucky mood and need to calm down... Actually, most of their songs are like that. (Check out their album Say I Am You). VIDEO
You should also try The Morning Benders. I'm not really sure how to describe them except for that they are good. Well, I think they're better then good (fantastic), but that's just my opinion. WEBSITE

Some other bands I enjoy are MIKA, Artist vs. Poet, Backseat Goodbye, Snow Patrol, and who could forget, The Beatles. I'm not going to say anything on them because it would make this post extremely long.

I hope the rest of you guys have as much fun as I did writing this,
Marisa

Friday, 24 September 2010

Oh sugar, oh sugar can't you see how hard I'm trying?

So I am starting this post WAY in the morning, because It is going to be LONG, and probably take most of the day to write.

So I think, And when I say ‘I’, I mean ‘Mrs. Mccoy’ herself; Louise and myself, this week should be Music Week. Which means lots of links to videos, Band myspaces/Websites all out talking about music we are really into.
I ONLY ASK: that you do not talk so much about the lyrics, Because I plan to have a lyric week. I am not sure how that is going to work. Soooo, just hold off on that for me, please. Everything else is far game.

I LOVE music, I could talk about it for hours. I have a hard time coming up with favorites. So I am going to just talk about the bands/artist I have listened to the longest, Bands I am just really getting into, and then finally just songs/music videos I am really into. So prepare for a LONG post from me.

I am pretty open with it comes to music, I give anything a try. I even like music in other languages. I would say I lean more to Pop punk and Indie. But I have HUGE place in my heart for Hip hop/Rap/pop music.

So to start, the bands I have been into the longest have been; Train, Lifehouse, Matchbox 20, Britney Spears, and finally, My Chemical Romance.

Now I got into Train, Lifehouse, and Matchbox 20 from the 90’s. But I was SOOOOO hyped that ALL three bands have made a little comeback. They bring back memories of being on the road with my dad when he was a truck driver, and he would let us come out with him. Late nights of listening to them, and I only think they have gotten better, now.

Britney Spears, again was from the 90’s/just growing up as a whole. I did the whole boy band and such. But I REALLY like the catchy pop shit she puts out. I KNOW she will make a comeback.

Finally, My Chemical Romance. Okay so for the longest time, I wouldn’t admit I was a huge fan of them. BECAUSE I did not want to be put in the group of girls that only liked them because of they thought they were ‘hot’. I don’t really find them THAT good looking. I just really enjoy their music, I think I have been listening to them since like 6th or 7th grade. I am now out of school that is a good 6 or 7 years.

I don’t know if any of you that like them have seen there new Album teaser. CLICKHERE!(You will so get the picture at the top.) It has me soooo hyped for the new album. I would have to say they probably in my top three favorite bands of all time.

These are music videos links for the bands, CLICKSOME! You might like some of them.

Bands/artist, in no particular order, I am REALLY into right now would be: Lady Gaga, Paramore, Vampire Weekend, OK Go, The Academy is…, Zebrahead, Alkaline Trio, Enter Shikari, And Innerpartysystem

The Academy is…, what to say, what to say, William beckett is a lyrical genius. His voice melts me in places. ;B I could listen to their music over and over. I have! WEBSITE! FAVVIDEO!

Zebrahead, is like that Punky cool cousin everyone has, but the truth is he is really just nerdy and fun. They sometimes have this Ska feel to them. WEBSITE! FAVVIDEO!

Alkaline trio, is just, ugh, they are the good Emo punk music, with a morbid side. Trust me, Give them a shot! It is worth it! Their lyrics are FULL of emotion. WEBSITE! FAVVIDEO!

Enter Shikari, They are a British ’Post hardcore’ band, lots of political undertone. Their strong views really come out in some of their music. WEBSITE! FAVVIDEO!

Lastly, Music videos I am really digging.

White Knuckles - OK Go. Kind of has this Prince-y feel to the song. As least that is what I picked up.

GET BETTER - Dan le sac Vs. Scroobius Pip. Another British based group. I THINK ALL OF YOU SHOULD WATCH IT! Just listen to what he says.

Single ladies - Beyoncé. I just love her.

I'm Awesome(Nerdy Parody) - HorribleFiction. You all should soooo subscribe to them!

End Love - OK Go. It is really kind of beautiful. Just watch.

This Addiction - Alkaline Trio. Really catchy, up beat song.

Well there you have it.

I wont keep you any longer, if you even bothered to read this far.

I'm kinda tired ):

:)  HELLO! It’s Thursday – and I’m back at home and I’m really happy-ish that I survived yet another Thursday!
ANYWAY before I forget to reply you guys;
Emilie – Hahah, same here! ):
Louise – No, I’ve..kinda..gotten rid of most of them xD & ooh! What colour? Blue? IS IT BLUE? J
Okay. So what I’ve been up to…well at the moment, I am eating lasagna – my all time favourite food, like ..ever – whilst waiting for my video to upload. Yeah. Yesterday, I went to go see a football game which ended at 10:15 or so. My team lost 2-1. And the referee was really unfair. But I’m not going to go into details otherwise you’re going to end up with two pages of me shouting. So yeah. And when I got home, I was exhausted but I still had more homework to do so I went to bed at 12:10 or so, and woke up at 5. So now I’m really tired.
Nothing else interesting is happening in my life, tbh. I am reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire – again, for the 1001th time, and last week I think, I watched the movie again. And today, I WATCHED THE TRAILER OF THE NEW HARRY POTTER MOVIE AND OH MY GOD IT WAS AMAZING.
NOTHING INTERESTING IS GOING ON IN MY LIFE. Tomorrow is Friday. That’s always good. You know why? Cause after Friday comes the weekend. But after the weekend comes Monday, and I hate Monday. Next week I think is going to be a hard week. Why? Because I’m writing a Spanish vocab test on Monday, a German class test on Tuesday and a Spanish class test thing on Thursday. And the week after that, a Maths test about quadratic equations or something, and that’s a topic I really do not understand.
SERIOUSLY. Nothing interesting is going on in my life, atm. OH it’s the holidays in 2/3 weeks, if I’m not wrong. YAY. But as you see, I’m a very boring person. Tonight at 6, I have a Spanish class. Like, an extra one cause my Spanish currently sucks. Which sucks. Cause if I don’t pass Spanish this year, I can’t go into next year, and I’d have to redo this year which is something I really do not want to do. But I think I’m getting better. Today, I actually raised my hand :O xD
OH! And the new season of 90210, Vampire Diaries and How I Met Your Mother came out recently, giving me something to do when I’m bored! :) So…I have nothing else to say. BUT HEY. HERES THE LINK TO MY VIDEO:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unmVNQcG5_s (:

Sorry I'm late....

It's actually like 12:41am in Chicago so I guess technically it's Thursday. I will try to be more on time next week but this Wednesday I had to stay after school for service learning hours. So I guess this week is just an update week which means my post is going to be pretty short because nothing is really happening this week. Just like Victoria next week is my homecoming and I would have alot more to talk about like spirit week and other homecoming events. Pretty much the only fun thing really happening is that my school is having a carnival in the park across the street and I may go to that.
This school year is horrible. All my classes are stupid and my teachers are too peppy all the time. I really just don't like my Science class. I hate Science in general because I mean everything about Science is based off of theories that they can't really prove. I mean the really important thing in Science, Biology anyway, is the atom which is the basic particle of matter yet scientist say that it can't be seen. SO HOW THE HELL DID DO THEY KNOW IT'S THERE!?!?!?!?
So yeah that's my life right now...

A post that needed to happen.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!
I've stayed up, to see the reveal of the new harry potter trailor(It was released at 2am, exactly...stupid time differances ¬.¬!)(Sorry, this just NEEDED to be shared!) If you haven't seen it yet... go to... HERE !!!

Tonight, I've sat doing so  much hp fan art...

I will leave you to your day now...

Bah. Monday.

Well, today is Monday. I guess since it's update week, I'll just say what's up in my life right now.
Not much. I have a boyfriend, which is unusual, since I never have a boyfriend. We were supposed to hang out today after school but we couldn't. I had to stay after for newspaper class since the deadline is tomorrow. I'm listening to NIRVANA right now. I love them.
I'm in a play right now (Alice In Wonderland) and the last show is this Saturday. I'm sad the show is ending, but I'm going to audition for another one as soon as I can. I'm really into acting right now. I don't really have much else to update on sadly, seeing as my life is monumentally uneventful.
I guess I could talk about newspaper, that's something I like. I just got my own column in the school newspaper and it was totally on accident. It's the humor column. You see, my English teacher (also my Journalism teacher) assigned our class a paper about obsession. At the time, I was majorly and totally obsessed with Charlie McDonnell. So, I wrote the paper about him. I was being completely serious and everything. It turns out my teacher thought it was really funny. And she asked if she could read it to the class, I said yes (forgetting all the dreadfully embarrassing things I'd written.) She read it to the class and they were all laughing, I was so embarrassed I got as read as a tomato. She decided that since the whole class thought my essay was funny that I should be the humor columnist and the obsession paper should be my first article. So now, I'm the humor columnist. I'm sort of excited about it.
Anyways, sorry for my boring story. When the paper comes out I might post my Charlie article.
And to your question Louise, I'm not really sure where hope comes from. I think it comes from faith. Not just faith in a god but faith in good. I think when you lose faith in the good of the world you lose hope. I know that it's impossible for me to hope when I don't see any good in life.
Also, Marisa there's this A Capella group called perpetual jazzile. They are amazing.
I'm posting a link of them just for you AFRICA
And Natalia, I also finally finished watching all the seasons of Dr Who this summer as well.
I cried too! Especially at Doomsday and The End of Time. I love Rose and Ten... They are my absolute favorite!

Sunday Post: Week 3

OK, so this week’s post is just a regular blog format, a kind of ‘how’s life treating you?’ day.  And I have absolutely nothing to say…  Now, if it was NEXT week, I would go on for pages and pages about Homecoming.  But it’s not…  I guess I could talk about school, but I don’t want to bore you with my rants…  At any rate, I’m doing OK.  It’s much harder than it has been in the past, but not as hard as I expected, so…   My teachers are pretty cool, especially in Science.  He’s a great teacher, both educating and entertaining the entire class by going off on tangents and rants about why he doesn’t like the way the books teach something, or by simply being HIM.   Like I said, he’s an all-around awesome guy… Or maybe I didn’t say that…
Right now I’m in our Fall Play: The Crucible.  I play Thomas Putnam and John Willard.  Yes, they are both guys.  In case you haven’t seen the play or read the book, they are polar opposites. Putnam is a fifty-something married, very religious man, and Willard is a young(er), single (and playing it), drinking guy.  My friends have decided that I will play the latter perfectly. :P
So yeah!  That’s literally all that’s going on in my sad excuse for a life…

Saturday, 18 September 2010

Hello All.

The "Update Week" sounds like a good idea.
Right now in my life, well, there really isn't much to update on. Basically I'm going to school doing homework and reading. Exciting isn't it. :P I'm just starting "Dracula" by Bram Stoker and it's full of awesome. I'm also in the middle of re-reading "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" because, why the heck not? What else? what else? Oh! A Capella! Oh. My. God. My choir teacher introduced me an a Capella group called "Straight No Chaser" and they're fantastic! Oh! He also showed me a group called "The Swingle Singers." He's gotten me a little obsessed... But it's so cool what they can do with their voices! I recommend searching both and giving them a try, I also recommend listening to any other a Capella group you come across. It's just so fantastic and surreal what they can do.

Louise, to answer your question ("Where do you think hope comes from?") I would have to say rock bottom. I guess it's kind of like your answer "fear" but kind of all encompassing. When ever I reach that state of utter rock bottom I just realize there's really no where to go but up and that's where I think hope comes from. The feeling that it can only get better from here. I think it also comes from anxiety and from wishing... I've met a lot of people who say they're (wishing and hoping) the same thing but I really don't believe so. I believe that when you reach that point of going over the edge that all you can do is wish for something better and that wishing, I believe, leads to hope. I believe hope is the reality of a wish. So maybe it's not rock bottom, maybe it's just a single, small, wish. But that's just my opinion.

Bethanie, good luck on the job hunt. I hope you find something.

Well, that's all folks,
Marisa

Here it is again yet it stings like the first time.

So I thought this weeks blog should just be an update blog. I think We should have one week a month to do so or at least every other month. Let me know what you think.

So the main things going on with me are, I am getting my hair cut tomorrow, or so I hope. I just got over the flu, and I Hung out with my family, Playing the Wii.
My thoughts are pretty jumbled tonight.
Between the thoughts of school, An apartment, and a job. I feel like my brain is at it's limits.
When it comes to school, as it seems most of you are in it. I am waiting for next year to start college. While I can't start that I have started the LONG process of trying to find a job. I don't know about you guys in other countries, but here in the U.S it is SOOO hard to find a job. I have so far put in 12 Applications, With no call backs.

I MAY hay my first apartment come next week. To tell you the truth that scares that shit out of me. First time on my own. Well I mean my older brother will be living with me, but still. My first time not living with an 'Adult'(Someone over 30).

I REALLY want to go back to school to become a makeup artist. But I may go back for cutting hair as well. Might as well knock them both out of the park.
I feel at wits ends. Maybe it is just me.

Natalia time (y) :)

So what makes me  nerd, eh?
First off, Harry Potter. And anything related to Harry Potter. I have read the books over and over and over and over again; currently reading them for the third time this year. Whoahh; I know right? O_O And the movies I love with every single ..bit of my heart. And Harry Potter music, like…Ministry of Magic, and such. Today, I was in Solingen, and I was listening to “A Phoenix Lament” and then it got to the part where it mentioned Fred dying, and then it hit me. With a huge “PANGG.” It was actually then when I realized, that in one year time or so, the whole thing would be over. And I was so upset. I’m going to miss Harry Potter so much. And then I explained to my dad why it hurt so much to think about the end of the whole thing, and then he was like “You do realize it’s just a movie yeah?” and I was like “…..”

And then there is reading. I love reading. Love it. And I often end up reading my books two to three times. The one thing I love the most about reading, is how when I get really into it, I just lose myself and I picture myself in the book instead, where everything is taking place. And I love it! Also, sometimes my dreams are about the books I’ve read. So yay! My most favourite books, are…well, Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, anything by Darren Shan, and the Demonata Series. But I love other books too, so it’s kinda hard to distinguish my favourites and stuff.

I also love writing. Yeah. I am able to go on and on and on for pages and pages and pages without stopping. That is, until I get writers block or something. I used to make fanfictions  but then I stopped, because well…I ended up getting stuck for ideas so yeah. And then last year, my previous English teacher told me about a writing competition which was happening in Hong Kong, and then I applied. And wrote a story. And got second place. So that was good. First time I’ve ever done anything with my…well, writing abilities. I like to think of writing as the only talent I have; seeing as I’m a talentless…person. So yeah.

Music, I love too. Currently I’m going through a German rapper/singer phase as well as Wizard Rock. I also love Trock. And I also <3 Chameleon Circuit +Sons of Admirals. I’m awaiting my Sons of Admirals shirt sometime this week; yaay! I also used to really like Kris Allen <3, among many other AI Winners. My favourite genre of music would be Country; hands down. I know that might sound lame or whatever, but I don’t know…there’s something to country music which really draws me in. Charlie McDonnell + Alex Day = <3 :)

Sticking stuff on my wall, I love too. Or just..sticking stuff in general. One second of my wall is covered in posters, another section is covered in memories/things I like ish. Another section is covered with Harry Potter spells. And I have one cork board thingies which are filled with pictures of my closest friends from hong Kong.

Oh. And Doctor Who. I nerd for Doctor Who. I recently finished all the 5 seasons; finally. Took me the whole of summer. And I loved it loved it LOVED IT! I’ve seen a couple of episodes before summer, and I liked it then, but it was only during summer when I decided to watch the whole thing. My favourite Doctor would have to be David Tennant, no doubt about it. And it hurts to think about him not being the Doctor anymore, but Matt is awesome too. But David Tennant… <3 I miss him as the Doctor. And Rose + him are my favourite Doctor & Companion. Wow, the number of times I’ve cried whilst watching Doctor Who… a lot.
STAR WARS! I LOVE STAR WARS. I LOVE STAR WARS WITH A PASSION. I love everything about Star Wars. E v e r y t h i n g.  I actually forgot what I was meant to be writing about..LOL. I’m just listing everything I like…Yoda, Obi Wan + Windu = (Y) :)

So..I think that’s all I can come up with at the moment. I’ll probably remember other stuff I nerd about while I’m doing something else, but …yeah. I’ll leave it at this. :)

asdhakjshoawiueansdakjndas!

I don’t know what happened there..^

I have no clue about what I nerd for........................>

Ok I was so stuck on what to write about for the new theme since i was talking to my best friend and she said that I'm not really that nerdy. I don't like classify myself as a certain thing because right now I really don't know what I am.
Really I don't think there's like a sole definition for what makes someone a nerd or not because everyone considers themselves a nerd for different reasons right?
I think I'm a nerd because I love ALEX DAY, reading, writing, photography and music.
Great people are nerds. For example, everyone in this collab-blog. I really love reading, I always have a book to read and it mainly gonna be a Sci-fi novel. Yes I love Twilight and Harry Potter is pretty good too. I read book like Eragon, Evermore and Wicked Series.
I listen to a little bit of every type of music, but my favorite is rock. I listen to music all day everyday and apparently always having headphones in your ear makes you a nerd(someone said that to me).
Never am I without my camera. I take pictures of evreything and anything and I keep all pictures so I can edit them later. I'm not thinking about making photography my future career, but it is something I really love to do and hope to get better at.
All I do during the day is write. I write stories, poems and sometimes songs. I LOVE ALEX DAY. He is so funny and his songs are amazing. He is something I nerd for avidly.
Last, but not least you should know that I nerd for a bunch of other things, but those were just the main ones. Oh and for everyone that added me on facebook thank you.

Tuesday, 14 September 2010

My posts have too many pictures.

"     Nerd-An 'individual', i.e. a person who does not conform to society's beliefs that all people should follow trends and do what their peers do. Often highly intelligent but socially rejected because of their obesssion with a given subject, usually computers. Unfortunately, nerds seem to have problems breeding, to the detriment of mankind as a whole.
"Nerds are clearly superior to us in every way.. Let's worship them as our Gods""

I want to look at that definition, from TheUrbanDictionary, on this page,  because thats not what I think "nerd" is. i think nerd is knowing somethign so much, and having such a great passion for a subject that you don't care how people view you. It's been that kid in the corner of class with the cure blasting through her ears, instead of the latest clubland sounds(can you tell I know nothing about ravish music?) it's being the person that'd spend £150 to go to a weekend star trek convention instead of having a night out on the town. But thtas just my opinion. D'you get me? I want you to challenge my opinion, I want you to question it, c'mon lets spark up some debate?

Okay, so what do i nerd for? Star Trek, LOST, photography, hair dye and ofcourse my blogs.

I've ALWAYS watched star trek, i was brought up with it(thank you Father) obviously, the origional series FTW! But last year when the new movie came out, I got right back into it; and hellz yeahz I'm glad. My love for McCoy grew tenfold. Those of you whom I've had to please or speaking to via email, will probley know that I go by the name 'Bones' or 'McCoy' I'm gunna buy some vulcan ears soon, too ^.^

Above all things I nerd over lost, I'm sad; I really am. But it's just so, I don't know how to explain it. It's an awesome show. But I think it's more the emotional attachment that I've built around it, these past 6 years. My parents broke up; I watched lost, My brother died; i watched lost; I tried to O.D; I watched lost. It's like, the only thing thats been really consistant in my life.

My ambition in life is to mak money from photography, even if it's just selling the odd print on eBay, whilst I have a regular everyday job. I think it's about now that i should have a ton of pictures? seems fitting. BUT I don't keep that much of my stuff on my computer. It's all kept on a gazillion memory sticks at my Nan's house xD

Since I was baout nine, i've been dying my hair. Numerous colours. Since I was about 11/12 I've done it black, though recently I thought some new interesting colours should occure; they did. Yes natalia, I did have some blue (: I think i nerd over it because it's a way of changing who I am, when I get sick of it; i can create a new me. I'm sure we've all felt like that from time to time; right?

And last but not least my precious blogs. No matter whats happening I know i have those to turn to. Whether it's my louiseio mcguinness blog, my tumblr, my nerdfighters blog my deviantART or this, I know it's there for me to rant, to express love, hate, and everything inbetween.

And that is my list (: I want to ask you guys something(I may do this in every blog i write now...) I want to ask you guys... "Where do you think hope comes from?" Me? I think hope comes from fear, I thhink it's that sinking feeling when you just know you're going to fail, but then something says "No, Louise, you're not going to fail; you can do this!"

What Makes Me A Nerd!

OK, so it was a bit more than 30 minutes, but... Hi again! I am considered by many a nerd. I’m not entirely sure what they think qualifies as a ‘nerd’, but… *shrugs* I LOVE reading. Absolutely LOVE it. I mean, when my family went to Disneyworld (one of my least favorite places on earth, by the way), I brought Stephen King’s ‘The Stand’. I also love anime and manga, including the original Pokémon, Death Note, D.N.Angel, and Demon Diary. I am a voice actress (kind of). I’m currently directing a fan dub of Buffy’s musical episode, Once More with Feeling. I am an obsessive fangirl, and LOVE to read and write fanfiction, though my written stuff rarely gets posted.

Some of my favorite TV shows include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Doctor Who, Big Bang Theory, and Star Trek: the Original Series. I used to be an obsessive gamer, but just don’t have time anymore. I am a huge Broadway junkie, and I am involved in everything theatre-wise that I can find. I am in the school’s band and jazz band as a trumpet, and I love it.

Ummmm… Like I said earlier, I don’t really know what classifies a person as a ‘geek’ or a ‘nerd’, so… Some of my favorite movies EVER are The Princess Bride, Mulan, The Lion King, Star Trek, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, The Wrath of Kahn, all of the Harry Potter movies, and The Computer that Wore Tennis Shoes. I never really like the princess movies, instead watching Star Wars, much to my mother’s dismay. Nowadays, I watch a lot of sci-fi movies like Total Recall and The Fifth Element.

It's Monday in my heart...

Hiya, Emilie here bringing cheer to Monday (only it's Sunday)
I'm posting on Sunday because I'm going on a school retreat tomorrow and I won't be able to go on the computer.

What do I nerd for?
I nerd for tons of stuff. I am a Dr Who nerd! I love Dr Who and I can't wait for the next season to start! I also nerd for music, I love Regina Spektor right now. She is one of my faves. this is one of my favorite songs by her. I sing it all the time, of course I'm not as good as her but I like to think I'm close. I love singing. I'm in chior. I nerd for books. I'm reading Looking for Alaska (John Green) right now. My favorite book is The Little Prince (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry) I love that book. I love Harry Potter and a Series of Unforunate Events. I also like His Dark Materials. I'm also an English nerd. I plan on majoring in English when I go to college!

That's all I really have time to talk about today, since presently my mom is making me leave the library. So bye for this week!
